Safety is the Best Policy!

PT. DSIndonesia Indah Karya believes very strongly that we must  prevent accidents by taking the right precautions and providing a satisfactory working environment for all our personnel.

The importance of health and safety at work cannot be compromised. There are rules which require all of us work safely and not to put ourselves or others in danger.

Laws are also in place to protect the public and all employees from workplace dangers.

The words ‘accident’ and ‘risk’ are used throughout this leaflet. Accident means anything that can cause (eg, Material handling, Welding, Grinding, chemicals, electricity, working from ladders, etc). Risk is the chance, high or low, that someone will be preventing by the accident.

Managing health and safety

We need to continually conduct risk assessments to find any risks in our workplace, and then put sensible measures in place to control them, and make sure they stay controlled.

A risk assessment is nothing more than a careful examination of practices or processes that could cause harm to someone. Risk assessment should be a practical exercise, aimed at getting the right controls in place – keep it simple and follow the step-by-step guidance on how to assess health and safety risks.

Health and safety policy

Clearly set out how you manage health and safety in workplace by defining who does what; and when and how they do it. of this leaflet is an example of a health and safety policy statement that we can fill in and keep at workplace.

The Implementation

Shall develop and implement site specific health, safety, industrial hygiene, emergency preparedness and environmental policies and action plans for their operations consistent with the foregoing principles.

All employees shall be made aware of the foregoing objectives and principles and shall be required t incorporate and abide by the spirit of such objectives and principles in carrying out their responsibilities.
